About me
My story in a nutshell:
I was born in Toulon on the French Riviera. As it was (and still is) a military city, my father made a whole career as a Navy "Major" which led my family to travel and live in multiple French islands for years. I had the chance to change schools and homes a lot, meet different cultures in both Indian and Pacific Islands.

Ultimately, my father was an Expatriate for SUEZ, this was the strongest experience I could ever have as a young woman away from France : in Wallis & Futuna islands. His "expatriation" was not a success... Fortunately, so many travels opened my horizons and inspired me to start a Higher Education program in International Trade and later, in International Human Resources Management.

Why do I see myself leading a career as a Teacher and Researcher?

As a PhD candidate, I enjoy teaching to both French and foreign students from all over the world. As intimidating as it could be at first, along with the many interviews (more than 40) I led with senior and middle global team leaders of multinationals, these experiences helped me grow. It confirmed my empathy and pleasure to listen to people perceptions dealing with their business issues. Moreover, I am in a position that allows me to learn something new everyday, and I like to believe that my soon-to-be completed PhD is only the beginning of a whole fullfilling career.
I like to believe that this research&teaching journey has only begun, and that I will soon find colleagues to grow together with, as a team, and help our Institution and society reach its highest potential.
In my view, that means helping people find their place at work, more precisely how they can contribute best in our society in a world that changes fast (as Hartmut Rosa and Yuval Noah Harari describe it).
Also, that means suggesting business leaders paths, to decide and act in a respectful way of their people interests, as well as the environment.

Finally, who am I outside of work?

There is a real alignment between who I am outside of work, and who I am as a junior faculty member: Before the COVID19 crisis, I was regularly at "International Meetings". These meetings are for expatriates who have come to France or foreigners who have come to live in Lyon for a longer period of time, and French people who, like me, want to exchange with new people. After my one-month roommate experience in New York, I wanted to continue to enrich myself humanly, linguistically and culturally.
I had also started ZOOM meetings with "Tandem" partners, to discuss in English, Spanish and learn basic sentences in German. I began learning German through evening classes, first at the University and then during the COVID crisis, at the Goethe Institute in Lyon. I am still a great beginner, but I persevere. Talking to foreign people and building connections with them are for me, the most beautiful experiences of "Resonance" (Rosa, 2019).
The rest of the time, I like to exercise along with people whenever I can, I read novels, especially (auto)biographies and sociological, philosophical or historical reflections.
The latest ones:

--"Les soeurs savantes Marie Curie et Bronia Dluska" (2015) by Natacha Henri ---> A biography of exceptional women and a story of mutual support
-"The Freedom to be free" (2018) by Hannah Arendt ---> An invitation to take part in societal debates.
-"Brave" by Rose McGowan (2018) ---> Around the #Metoo phenomenon, she tells her story as an Hollywood actress
-"The Circle" (2013) by Dave Eggers ----> Tackling the notion of privacy in an online age, close to George Orwell "1984" in genre.
